I lead two workstreams at Just Eat under the banner of "self-service analytics".
What does this even mean?
Self-service analytics, for me, is a shift towards sustainable delivery of insight to a business through a combination of deliverables. Less reliance on traditional requests and development. Empowering the business to ask questions and answers based on the data and solutions provided for them.
My vision is to create a data ecosystem that facilitates requests for information from the business. A suite of data solutions that enables access, consumption, and understanding of data across the Just Eat Group.
My objective is to empower Just Eat to fulfill the goal of being a data-driven company. This can be achieved by ensuring the correct resources are in place. Making sure these are being used correctly through fully understanding the features and functionality along with the right training. Ensuring the right data is also being accessed via these resources and has an auditable history to satisfy governance and compliance requirements.
In addition, accessing data is also simple and easy.
The first workstream (development) scope, design, develop, scale and deploy data "toolkits". Finding business issues and needs and develop solutions that incorporate both design and performance, ensuring data accuracy is delivered to the client.
The second workstream is the software team. We manage the software and platforms used to deliver data visualization products to our stakeholders, both internal and external. Reliability, performance, security, and governance. Not to mention training and education.
We take the data, out of data.
